Farewell to Pastor Jim and Karen Nelson

May 27, 2007 was their last day with NBC as assistant pastors of the church. We have appreciated their ministry here for the last 13 months. They have done a wonderful job of numerically and spiritually building up the Youth Ministry in our church. We thank them and we will miss them. Dearest Friends in Christ Jesus,

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! As many of you already know, we are now entering into a new and exciting phase of life and we would like to thank you for your friendship and support in the past. We truly feel blessed and honored for having had the opportunity to be a small part of your lives while at a church, through outside activities such as Little League Baseball or the Downriver YMCA, or elsewhere. The memories that we have are priceless and as we grow older, we are learning to cherish these more and more. With what we read in Ecclesiastes 3:1, "For everything there is a season; a time for every activity under heaven," God has put it upon our hearts to attend Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU), to finish up a degree which will help prepare us for additional ministry in the future.

There are a couple of ways in which we really would welcome your support. The first, and most important, is in the area of prayer. God has been at work opening and closing doors for us in regards to this move, and we ask that you make us a part of your daily or weekly prayer requests. Many of you know that when you step out in faith, that the adversary will fight like never before. We need a solid base of believers lifting us up in prayer these next couple of years. Please let us know if you are willing to "stand in the gap" for us spiritually speaking.

The other area you might consider in assisting us with - financial support. Our home church has authorized an IWU Matching Grant to be set up in our name. Any money donated to this fund, will be matched dollar for dollar by Indiana Wesleyan University up to a maximum of $750. Please pray about any decision to help out or not. If you decide to donate, please remember that this must be above and beyond any tithe or offering you are currently giving your local church.
